Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, failed compressor or Peltier module, refrigerant leak in Dometic sealed system, failed cabinet temperature sensor, condenser fan not running
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing panels. Do not attempt sealed system repairs unless qualified.
Steps:
- Check door and gasket: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket seals all around. Replace a torn or hardened door gasket.
- Ventilation and condenser: Verify adequate clearance around the cooler and clean the condenser coil and fan area.
- Confirm cooling system operation: After plugging in briefly, check if the compressor or Peltier module runs and if the evaporator or cold plate gets cold. Then unplug again.
- Sensor test: Measure resistance of the cabinet temperature sensor. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- Sealed system issues: If the compressor runs but no cooling occurs and the condenser does not warm, there may be a refrigerant leak or compressor failure. This requires a professional refrigeration technician familiar with Dometic sealed systems.
