Safety: Unplug the unit before defrosting or working near the evaporator. Do not use sharp tools to remove ice.

Steps:

Manual defrost: Turn off and unplug the cooler. Open the door and place towels to catch water. Allow all ice to melt completely.
Check gasket and usage: Inspect the door gasket for leaks and reduce door openings in very humid conditions.
Inspect defrost components: On models with automatic defrost, test the defrost heater and defrost sensor for continuity and correct resistance. Replace faulty parts.
Clear drain: Locate and clear the defrost drain hole and tube using warm water and a flexible brush.
Monitor: After reassembly, monitor for recurring frost. Persistent issues may indicate a control board defrost timing fault.

Excessive frost or ice buildup on the evaporator or interior walls of the wine cooler.
