Possible Causes

Shorted temperature sensor, sensor not sensing cabinet air correctly, control board relay stuck closed, door gasket leaking causing constant run

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing sensors or the control board.

Steps:

  • Check setpoint: Confirm the temperature setting is not at the minimum. Adjust to a higher temperature and monitor.
  • Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet temperature sensor is not touching the evaporator or cold plate directly and is positioned in the airflow.
  • Test sensor: Measure resistance and compare to expected NTC values. Replace if readings indicate a short (very low resistance).
  • Door gasket: Inspect and replace if leaking, as warm air infiltration can cause long run times.
  • Control board: If the compressor or Peltier module runs even when the unit is switched off or at high setpoint, the relay on the main control PCB may be stuck and the board should be replaced.
