Possible Causes
Defective magnetic reed door switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken door switch wiring, Faulty door input circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing door switch or trim pieces.
Steps:
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and not hitting racks or bottles. Adjust bottle placement if needed.
- 2. Inspect gasket and hinges: Make sure the door is aligned and not sagging. A misaligned door may not activate the door switch.
- 3. Locate door switch: On many Electrolux wine coolers, the door switch is a small plunger or magnetic sensor in the cabinet frame. Gently press the switch (if mechanical) and see if the interior light turns off.
- 4. Test magnet alignment: For magnetic reed switches, ensure the magnet in the door frame lines up with the sensor when closed. Adjust the door or magnet position if possible.
- 5. Replace door switch: If the switch does not change state when pressed or when the magnet is present, replace it with the correct Electrolux door switch assembly.
Note: If a new switch does not clear E11, the control board input may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
