Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or top trim. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
Steps:
- 1. Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect. If E6 returns immediately, continue.
- 2. Access control panel: Remove screws securing the top/front trim and gently pull the control panel forward.
- 3. Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat ribbon or harness between the user interface board and the main control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not kinked or damaged.
- 4. Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid spills inside the control area. Dry gently with a soft cloth and allow several hours for complete drying before reapplying power.
- 5. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable at both ends to clean the contacts.
- 6. Replace user interface board: If E6 persists and the main board appears normal, replace the user interface PCB with the correct Electrolux part.
Note: If replacing the user interface does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
