Possible Causes
Door not fully closed or misaligned, Faulty magnetic door switch or reed sensor, Weak or damaged door gasket, Obstruction preventing full closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is needed for basic checks; unplug only if removing panels.
dO indicates the controller thinks the door is open.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Ensure shelves, bottles, or accessories are not preventing the door from closing fully.
- Step 2 – Inspect gasket: Look for tears, warping, or hardened sections of the door gasket. Close the door on a sheet of paper at several points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- Step 3 – Verify door alignment: Check that the door is level and square with the cabinet. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
- Step 4 – Locate door switch: On many EuroCave models, a magnetic reed switch is hidden in the cabinet frame and a magnet is in the door. Gently clean the frame area and ensure no metal objects are stuck near the switch.
- Step 5 – Test switch (advanced): With power off, access the switch wiring behind the front frame and test continuity while opening/closing the door or moving a magnet near the switch. Replace the door switch if it does not change state.
- Step 6 – Replace gasket if needed: If the gasket is damaged, install a new EuroCave door gasket, warming it slightly with a hair dryer to help it seat and seal properly.
