Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal fan assemblies. Keep fingers clear of fan blades.
E6 typically points to a problem with the internal evaporator fan that circulates air inside the cabinet.
- Step 1 – Listen for fan operation: With the door closed and unit running, you should hear a gentle fan noise. If silent or intermittent, proceed to inspection.
- Step 2 – Access the fan: Remove internal shelves and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator and fan housing.
- Step 3 – Check for obstructions: Look for ice buildup, loose wires, or insulation blocking the fan blades. Clear any obstructions and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- Step 4 – Inspect wiring: Verify the fan connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged. Reseat the connector at both the fan and control board ends.
- Step 5 – Test/replace fan: If the fan does not run when powered (and voltage is present, checked by a qualified person), replace the evaporator fan motor with a EuroCave-compatible part.
- Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and confirm that E6 clears and airflow is restored.
Note: If multiple fans are present (dual-zone models), ensure you identify the correct fan associated with the error.
