Possible Causes

Failed NTC sensor in upper or lower zone, Wiring harness damage between zones and control board, Loose connector on zone sensor input, Moisture ingress into sensor housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing internal panels.

On dual-zone EuroCave models, E8 often indicates a problem with the temperature sensor in one of the zones.

  • Step 1 – Identify affected zone: Compare displayed temperatures and actual bottle temperature in each zone. The zone with unrealistic readings is likely the one with the faulty sensor.
  • Step 2 – Locate zone sensor: Inside the affected zone, find the small sensor cover or probe on the rear or side wall. It may be behind a small plastic grille.
  • Step 3 – Inspect and reseat: Remove the cover, check the sensor for damage, and ensure the cable is intact. Reseat the connector if accessible.
  • Step 4 – Test/replace sensor: With power off, measure the sensor resistance and compare to spec. Replace with the correct EuroCave zone NTC sensor if readings are abnormal.
  • Step 5 – Check harness routing: Ensure the sensor cable is not pinched by shelves or panels and is routed as originally installed.
  • Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Restore power and verify that E8 clears and the zone temperature stabilizes over several hours.
