Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Faulty touch control PCB, Power surge damage, Firmware or communication bus fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the top or front control panel.

Er indicates a problem with the user interface or communication to the main control board.

  • Step 1 – Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes this clears transient communication errors.
  • Step 2 – Access control panel: Remove the trim screws and gently pull the control panel forward. Do not strain the ribbon cables.
  • Step 3 – Reseat connectors: Carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable(s) between the display PCB and main board. Inspect for corrosion or bent pins.
  • Step 4 – Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid ingress around the control panel. Dry thoroughly and correct any source of moisture.
  • Step 5 – Replace control panel PCB: If buttons or display segments are non-functional, replace the control panel PCB with the correct EuroCave part.
  • Step 6 – Consider main board: If a known-good panel still shows Er, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
