Possible Causes
Stuck relay on control board keeping compressor on, Shorted temperature sensor reading too warm, Incorrect setpoint or mode, Control board firmware fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing any panels. Protect wine from freezing by temporarily relocating bottles if necessary.
L1 indicates the cabinet is colder than intended.
- Step 1 – Verify settings: Check that the set temperature is correct for wine storage and that no special rapid-cooling mode is active.
- Step 2 – Power reset: Unplug the cabinet for 10 minutes, then reconnect. Observe whether the compressor cycles normally instead of running continuously.
- Step 3 – Check temperature sensor: If a sensor is reading incorrectly (e.g., reporting warmer than actual), the controller may overcool. Inspect and test the cabinet NTC sensor; replace if out of spec.
- Step 4 – Observe compressor cycling: If the compressor never shuts off despite correct sensor readings, the compressor relay on the control board may be stuck closed. This typically requires control board replacement.
- Step 5 – Interim protection: Until repaired, unplug the unit periodically to prevent overchilling, or move valuable bottles to another properly controlled storage.
