Possible Causes
Worn fan motor bearings, Fan blade rubbing on housing, Ice buildup contacting fan, Misaligned fan mount
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the EuroCave before removing internal panels. Fan blades can be sharp.
- Step 1 – Identify noise source: Open the door and listen near the rear interior wall. If the noise changes when the door is opened/closed, it is likely the evaporator fan.
- Step 2 – Access fan: Remove shelves and the rear inner panel to expose the fan and evaporator.
- Step 3 – Check for ice: If ice is contacting the fan, defrost the unit fully and investigate defrost or door seal issues.
- Step 4 – Inspect fan alignment: Ensure the fan blade is centered in the shroud and not rubbing. Adjust mounting screws if needed.
- Step 5 – Replace fan motor: If the noise persists and the motor feels rough when spun by hand, replace the evaporator fan motor with a EuroCave-compatible unit.
