Possible Causes
Loose compressor mounting grommets, Condenser coil touching cabinet, Fan blades hitting wiring or shroud, Unit not level causing vibration amplification
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the compressor or fan assemblies.
- Step 1 – Level the cabinet: Adjust the front leveling feet so the cabinet is stable and does not rock when gently pushed.
- Step 2 – Access rear compartment: Remove the rear lower panel to inspect the compressor and condenser fan.
- Step 3 – Check compressor mounts: Ensure the rubber grommets under the compressor are intact and that the compressor is not contacting the cabinet frame directly. Replace worn grommets if necessary.
- Step 4 – Inspect condenser and tubing: Make sure copper lines and the condenser coil are not touching the cabinet walls. Gently bend them away a few millimeters if needed.
- Step 5 – Check fan blades: Spin the condenser fan by hand and ensure it does not hit wires or the shroud. Re-route any loose wires and secure with cable ties.
