Possible Causes

Failed compressor start relay/PTC, Open thermal overload on compressor, Defective compressor windings, Faulty main control board not sending power to compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the EuroCave before accessing the compressor compartment. Risk of electric shock.

  • Step 1 – Listen for compressor: After plugging in, listen at the rear. No hum or vibration suggests the compressor is not starting.
  • Step 2 – Check for error codes: If any compressor-related codes (E5, CF) are present, follow those procedures as well.
  • Step 3 – Access compressor area: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor, start device, and overload.
  • Step 4 – Inspect start device: Remove the start relay/PTC from the compressor. Look for burn marks or a burnt smell. Replace with the correct EuroCave-specified start device if damaged.
  • Step 5 – Test compressor (advanced): With power disconnected, measure resistance between compressor terminals. Infinite or zero resistance indicates a failed compressor, which requires professional replacement.
  • Step 6 – Control board check: If the compressor and start device are good but the compressor never receives power, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.

Note: Compressor replacement is a major repair and is usually performed by an authorized EuroCave service center.
