Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Drain tube kinked or disconnected, Excess humidity entering through door gasket leaks, Cabinet not level causing water to overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside. Use towels to absorb water and prevent slipping.
- Step 1 – Locate drain: Find the small drain hole or channel at the rear of the interior floor or behind the evaporator cover.
- Step 2 – Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or flexible plastic rod to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Do not use metal objects that can damage the drain.
- Step 3 – Check drain tube: From the rear of the unit, locate the drain tube leading to the evaporator tray above the compressor. Ensure it is not kinked, disconnected, or blocked.
- Step 4 – Level the cabinet: Use a spirit level to ensure the cabinet is slightly tilted toward the rear so water flows to the drain.
- Step 5 – Inspect gasket: Replace a damaged door gasket to reduce excess moisture entering the cabinet.
