Possible Causes
Mismatched or incorrect NTC sensors installed between upper and lower zones, Faulty sensor in one zone causing imbalance, Firmware issue on main control board, Wiring harness cross-connection between zones
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal wiring or sensors.
Steps for dual-zone Fagor wine coolers:
- Identify zones: Note which zone (upper or lower) is not maintaining temperature correctly.
- Check sensor part numbers: If sensors were previously replaced, verify that the correct Fagor NTC sensor part numbers are installed in each zone. Using non-matching sensors can trigger E8.
- Inspect wiring harness: Access the rear or side panels to trace the sensor wires from each zone to the main PCB. Ensure connectors are plugged into the correct labeled sockets (e.g., Z1, Z2).
- Test each zone sensor: Disconnect and measure resistance of each zone's cabinet sensor at the same ambient temperature. Readings should be similar. Replace any sensor that is open, shorted, or significantly different.
- Reset control: After correcting wiring or replacing sensors, unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes to reset the control board, then power on and monitor.
- Firmware/board issue: If all sensors and wiring are correct and E8 persists, the main control board may have a firmware or hardware fault. Replace the main PCB with the correct revision for your model.
