Door gasket leaking warm air, Defective defrost heater, Failed defrost sensor or timer function on main PCB, Frequent door openings in humid environment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before defrosting or accessing internal components.
Steps:
- Manual defrost: Remove all bottles and shelves. Leave the door open and allow all ice to melt. Place towels to catch water. Do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
- Inspect gasket: After defrosting, check the door gasket for gaps or damage. Replace if it does not seal properly.
- Check defrost components: If frost returns quickly, access the evaporator and test the defrost heater and sensor as described for E4.
- Control board: If heater and sensor are good, the defrost control on the main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
