Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Disconnected or kinked drain tube, Cracked drain pan above compressor, Excessive door openings causing condensation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside or behind it.
Steps:
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole at the rear (usually just above the step in the liner).
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or plastic straw to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush with warm water: Use a turkey baster or syringe to flush warm water through the drain to ensure it flows freely to the rear drain pan.
- Inspect rear drain tube and pan: Remove the rear panel and verify the drain tube is connected from the cabinet to the drain pan above the compressor. Straighten any kinks and reseat loose connections.
- Check drain pan: Inspect for cracks or damage. Replace the pan if leaking.
