Possible Causes
Failed main control board compressor relay, Defective compressor start relay or overload, Open thermal protector on compressor, Broken wiring to compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler and wait several minutes before accessing the rear. High voltage is present when powered.
Steps:
- Confirm symptoms: Listen for any humming or clicking from the compressor area when the unit is plugged in and calling for cooling. If completely silent, suspect control or wiring.
- Access rear components: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor, start relay, overload, and wiring.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the main PCB to the compressor for loose connectors or burnt wires. Reseat all plugs.
- Test start relay/overload: Remove the relay/overload assembly from the compressor. Check for continuity through the overload and appropriate resistance through the PTC relay. Replace if open or physically damaged.
- Control board output: With extreme caution and only if qualified, test for compressor voltage at the board output when cooling is requested. No voltage with correct inputs indicates a bad main PCB.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new Fagor compressor start relay/overload or main control board as indicated by tests.
Note: If you are not experienced with live voltage testing, contact a professional technician.
