Possible Causes
Failed lower compartment thermistor, loose or corroded connector, damaged harness, faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing lower zone panels.
Steps to address E2:
- Locate lower zone sensor: In dual-zone units, the lower sensor is typically behind a small cover on the rear wall of the lower compartment.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the cover and check that the sensor is intact and the harness is not damaged or wet. Reseat the connector.
- Measure resistance: With power off, disconnect the sensor and test resistance. Compare to the specified values. Replace the sensor if readings are incorrect.
- Check harness to PCB: Follow the harness to the main control board and ensure all plugs are secure and free of corrosion.
- Replace components as needed: Install a new lower zone thermistor if faulty. If E2 persists with good sensor and wiring, replace the main PCB.
