Display shows E14 and the unit may not defrost properly; ice may accumulate on the evaporator.

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing the evaporator and heater. The heater can be sharp and may have sharp mounting brackets.

Repair steps:

• 1. Manually defrost: Open the door and leave the unit unplugged until all ice on the evaporator melts. Use towels to catch water; do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
• 2. Access heater: Remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and defrost heater (usually a metal or glass-encased element at the base or woven through the coil).
• 3. Test heater resistance: Disconnect heater leads and measure resistance with a multimeter. An infinite reading indicates an open heater that must be replaced.
• 4. Check thermal fuse/thermostat: If present, test continuity through any thermal cutouts in series with the heater. Replace if open.
• 5. Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or brittle wires and replace or repair with high-temperature-rated wire as needed.
• 6. Evaluate control board relay: If heater and wiring are good, the defrost relay on the main control board may not be energizing. Replace the board if the relay is defective.
• 7. Reassemble and test: Reinstall panels, restore power, and monitor for proper defrosting over several days.

Warning: Do not bypass thermal fuses or thermostats; they are critical safety devices.
