• 4. Test flap movement: With power briefly restored (and fingers clear), observe whether the flap motor attempts to move when changing set temperatures between zones. Disconnect power again before further work.
• 5. Check wiring and connectors: Ensure the diverter motor and any position sensor connectors are secure and wires are intact.
• 6. Replace diverter motor assembly if faulty: If the motor is seized or the position sensor is defective, replace the complete diverter assembly with the correct Gaggenau part.
• 7. Reassemble and test: Reinstall panels, restore power, and verify that both zones reach and maintain their set temperatures without E18 returning.
