Possible Causes
Loose evaporator fan blade, Ice contacting fan blades, Loose shelf rails or bottle racks, Loose interior panel screws
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the interior fan or tightening components.
Steps:
- 1. Identify noise source: Open the door while the unit is running and listen carefully. If noise changes when the door is opened, it may be fan-related.
- 2. Inspect shelves and racks: Remove and reseat shelves and bottle racks. Tighten any loose rails or brackets.
- 3. Access evaporator fan: Remove the rear interior panel to expose the fan. Check that the fan blade is firmly attached to the motor shaft.
- 4. Remove ice: If ice is contacting the blades, manually defrost the unit and investigate defrost system issues if ice returns.
- 5. Tighten screws: Tighten any loose screws on interior panels and duct covers.
Note: Persistent fan noise after these steps may indicate a worn fan motor that should be replaced.
