How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer in the center of the cabinet and compare readings after several hours of stable operation.
- Inspect thermistor placement: Ensure the cabinet thermistor is properly clipped to the liner or evaporator cover and not hanging loose.
- Replace thermistor: If readings are consistently off by several degrees, replace the cabinet thermistor with a GE-specified part.
- Control board: If a new thermistor does not correct the discrepancy, the control board may be miscalibrated and should be replaced.
