GE Normal Refrigerant Flow Noise (Potentially Exaggerated)

Wine cooler makes a gurgling or bubbling sound during operation.

Possible Causes

Normal refrigerant movement, unit not level causing refrigerant pooling, tubing contacting cabinet amplifying sound

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting tubing or leveling.

  • Level the unit: Adjust leveling legs so the cabinet is stable and level, which can reduce refrigerant noise.
  • Check tubing contact: At the rear, gently bend refrigerant lines away from the cabinet or each other if they are touching and transmitting noise. Do not kink or sharply bend lines.
  • Isolate vibration: Ensure the unit is not directly touching cabinets or walls that can amplify sound.

Some gurgling is normal in GE wine coolers and does not indicate a fault if cooling performance is normal.
