Possible Causes

Defective compressor shell temperature sensor, Sensor detached from compressor body, Wiring damage near compressor, Main PCB misinterpreting sensor signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance. The compressor and nearby components may be hot; allow them to cool.

  • Locate compressor sensor: Some Grundig models use an NTC sensor clipped to the compressor shell. Inspect its position and attachment.
  • Check wiring: Ensure the sensor cable is intact and not touching hot or moving parts.
  • Test sensor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Grundig specs. Replace if readings are abnormal.
  • Reattach sensor: If the sensor has come loose, reclip it firmly to the compressor using the original bracket or clip.
  • Replace sensor or PCB: Install a new Grundig compressor temperature sensor if faulty. If the sensor is good but E14 persists, the main PCB may need replacement.
