Possible Causes
Defective ambient NTC sensor near front grille, Sensor wiring damaged by vibration, Loose connector on control PCB, Control board sensor circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before removing any kick plates or panels.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many Grundig wine coolers, the ambient sensor is near the front ventilation grille or behind the control panel. Look for a small probe with two wires.
- Visual inspection: Check that the sensor is not covered in dust or blocked by objects. Ensure the cable is not pinched or cut.
- Check connector: Follow the cable to the main PCB and verify the plug is fully inserted. Clean any oxidation with electrical contact cleaner.
- Test sensor resistance: Use a multimeter to measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Grundig specifications. Replace if readings are far outside expected range or unstable.
- Replace ambient sensor: Fit a new Grundig ambient NTC sensor, routing the cable as originally installed. Secure it away from hot components.
- Control board check: If a new sensor does not clear E2, the main PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
