Possible Causes

Failed condenser fan motor, Condenser coil clogged with dust, Defective condenser temperature sensor, Main PCB not controlling fan correctly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before working at the rear. Ensure good ventilation while cleaning dust.

  • Inspect condenser area: Remove the rear lower panel to access the condenser coil and fan.
  • Clean condenser coil: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust from the condenser fins. Do not bend the fins.
  • Check condenser fan: Spin the fan by hand to ensure it moves freely. Look for obstructions.
  • Test fan motor: With a multimeter, check for continuity across the fan motor. If open, replace the motor. When powered, the fan should run whenever the compressor is on.
  • Inspect condenser sensor: If fitted, check the NTC sensor clipped to the condenser line. Ensure it is secure and wiring is intact.
  • Replace faulty parts: Install a new Grundig condenser fan motor and/or condenser NTC sensor as required.
  • PCB diagnosis: If the fan and sensor are good but the fan never receives power, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced.
