Possible Causes
Faulty temperature sensor giving unstable readings, Oversensitive control algorithm on main PCB, Poor sensor placement near cold air stream, Overheating compressor tripping overload
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or compressor components.
Steps to address short cycling:
- Monitor pattern: Note whether the compressor stops due to control command or due to overload (clicking from compressor area).
- Check ventilation and condenser: Ensure good airflow and clean condenser coils to prevent compressor overheating.
- Inspect sensor placement: Make sure the cabinet sensor is not too close to the evaporator or fan outlet, which can cause rapid temperature swings at the sensor.
- Test and replace sensor: If readings are unstable, replace the cabinet sensor with a Haier-compatible NTC.
- Control board replacement: If short cycling persists with a good sensor and proper ventilation, the main control PCB may need replacement.
