Possible Causes

Defective ambient NTC sensor, Sensor lead damaged near control panel, Loose connector at display PCB, Faulty main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the control panel or display assembly.

Steps to address E2:

  • Locate the ambient sensor: On many Haier wine coolers, the ambient sensor is located near the front control panel or behind a small vent on the front grille. It may be integrated into the display harness.
  • Inspect the control panel area: Remove the screws securing the top or front trim to access the display PCB. Carefully pull the panel forward to expose wiring.
  • Check sensor wiring: Identify the small two-wire sensor harness labeled for ambient or room sensor. Look for pinched, cut, or disconnected wires.
  • Verify connector seating: Ensure the sensor plug is fully inserted into the display or main control PCB and that no pins are bent or corroded.
  • Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to expected NTC values (commonly 5–20 kΩ at ~25°C). Replace if open, shorted, or significantly off-spec.
  • Replace sensor if needed: Install a Haier-compatible ambient temperature sensor. Route the wiring away from sharp edges and secure with clips or tape as originally installed.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the control panel, restore power, and confirm that E2 is cleared and that the unit responds correctly to room temperature changes.

Tip: If the sensor tests correctly but E2 remains, the display PCB or main control PCB may require replacement by a technician.
