Possible Causes

Aging or drifted NTC temperature sensor, Sensor not located in representative air stream, Control PCB calibration error, Thermometer placement near door or wall

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or control boards.

Steps to address temperature discrepancies:

  • Verify thermometer placement: Place the thermometer in the center of the cabinet, away from walls and the door, and allow several hours for stabilization.
  • Compare readings: If the display is consistently off by more than 2–3°C (3–5°F), suspect sensor or control issues.
  • Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet sensor is properly mounted and not touching the evaporator or directly in the cold air stream.
  • Test sensor: Remove and measure the sensor resistance at known temperatures. Replace with a Haier-compatible NTC if out of spec.
  • Replace control board (if needed): If a new sensor does not correct the reading, the main control PCB may have calibration errors and require replacement.
