Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain hole, Disconnected drain tube at rear, Cracked drain pan, Excessive door openings causing condensation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside or behind it. Use towels to absorb water.
Steps to clear leaks:
- Locate interior drain: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole or channel at the rear bottom area.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton swab, or flexible plastic strip to gently clear debris from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, flush a small amount of warm (not boiling) water through the drain to ensure it flows freely to the rear pan.
- Check rear drain tube and pan: At the back, remove the lower panel and verify the drain tube is securely attached and routed into the drain pan above the compressor.
- Inspect drain pan: Look for cracks or misalignment. Replace the pan if damaged.
- Reduce condensation: Avoid frequent or prolonged door openings, especially in humid environments.
