Display shows E5 and the compressor or cooling module may not run, or the unit may shut down shortly after starting.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.

Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Disconnect power before touching the compressor area. E5 often indicates that the compressor is drawing too much current or overheating.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the wine cooler (typically at least 5–10 cm at the sides and back). Clean dust from the rear grille and condenser coils with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Inspect the condenser fan (if equipped): With the rear panel removed (power unplugged), spin the fan blade by hand. It should move freely. If seized or noisy, the fan motor may need replacement.
- Check the start relay and overload: Remove the plastic cover on the side of the compressor. Inspect the PTC start relay and overload protector for signs of burning or cracking. Replace them as a set if damaged.
- Allow cooling: If the compressor is very hot to the touch, allow it to cool for 30–60 minutes before restarting. Plug the unit back in and listen for the compressor starting smoothly.
- Monitor operation: If E5 reappears quickly, there may be an internal compressor fault or a control board issue.
Compressor and sealed-system work require specialized tools and should be performed only by a licensed refrigeration technician.
