Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Loose or corroded fan connector, Faulty fan driver on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Unplug the wine cooler before working inside. E6 is commonly associated with a problem in the evaporator fan circuit.
- Access the fan: Remove interior shelves and the rear inner panel. The evaporator fan is usually mounted on or near this panel.
- Check for ice buildup: Look for ice blocking the fan blades. If present, defrost the unit completely by unplugging it and leaving the door open until all ice melts. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
- Test the fan: Spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the motor is likely bad.
- Inspect wiring: Check the fan connector and harness for loose pins or damage. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Measure voltage (advanced): With the unit powered and great caution, a technician can check for DC or AC voltage at the fan connector according to the wiring diagram. No voltage may indicate a PCB fault.
- Replace the fan motor: If the motor is noisy, seized, or has burnt windings, install a new Hisense-compatible evaporator fan motor. Reuse the original fan blade if in good condition and ensure correct rotation direction.
If a new fan does not run and wiring is intact, the main control PCB may need replacement by a professional.
