Possible Causes
Moisture intrusion into control panel, Worn touchpad contacts, Loose ribbon cable to main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
- Clean the panel surface: Wipe the control area with a slightly damp cloth and then dry. Do not allow liquid to seep into the edges.
- Reset power: Unplug for 5 minutes and plug back in to reset the control electronics.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and check the ribbon cable connection to both the panel and main board. Reseat the cable securely.
- Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage on the control board. If present, replace the control panel / user interface board.
- Test buttons: After reassembly, test each button. If some remain unresponsive, the touchpad membrane is likely worn and the panel should be replaced.
