Display shows E6 and the interior fan does not run or runs intermittently; temperature is uneven.

Always unplug the unit before servicing.

• Listen for fan operation: With the door closed and unit running, you should normally hear a gentle fan noise. If silent, proceed with inspection.
• Check for ice blockage: Open the door and inspect the rear interior panel. If frosted over, defrost the unit completely by unplugging and leaving the door open until all ice melts.
• Access the fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
• Inspect fan blades: Look for obstructions such as wiring, insulation, or plastic pieces contacting the blades. Clear any obstructions and ensure the blades spin freely by hand.
• Check wiring and connector: Verify that the fan motor wires are intact and the connector is firmly seated either on the fan harness or at the main control board.
• Test the fan motor: With a multimeter, check for continuity across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
• Replace fan motor if needed: Install a new hOmeLabs evaporator fan motor assembly, transferring any mounting brackets or grommets from the old motor.
• Reassemble and test: Reinstall the interior panel, restore power, and confirm that the fan runs and E6 is cleared.

Note: If the fan runs but E6 persists, the control board may be misreading fan feedback and could require replacement.
