Possible Causes
Shorted LED light strip, Failed LED driver circuit on main board, Damaged light harness in door frame
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Disconnect power before working on lighting circuits.
- Check basic operation: Open and close the door to see if the interior LED light attempts to turn on. Note any flickering or dim operation.
- Inspect LED strip: Locate the interior LED light strip (often mounted along the side wall or top). Look for burn marks, discoloration, or physical damage.
- Check wiring: Follow the light harness to its connector. Ensure it is firmly plugged into the main board or intermediate connector.
- Test with a known-good strip (if available): If you have access to a compatible LED strip, temporarily connect it to see if E8 clears and lighting returns.
- Replace faulty components: If the strip is visibly damaged or fails to light, replace it with a hOmeLabs LED light strip assembly. If multiple strips test bad, the LED driver on the main board may be faulty and the main control board may need replacement.
- Reassemble and test: After replacement, restore power and verify that E8 is cleared and lighting works normally.
Note: Avoid touching LED contacts with bare hands to reduce corrosion risk.
