Possible Causes

Clogged evaporator drain hole, Cracked drain tube, Excess humidity and frequent door openings, Unit not level causing water to overflow

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Unplug the unit before working inside.

  • Locate the source: Remove bottom shelves and inspect the lowest interior area for standing water. Check the rear wall for a small drain hole beneath the evaporator area.
  • Clear the drain: Use a cotton swab, soft brush, or pipe cleaner to gently clear debris from the drain hole. Flush with a small amount of warm water using a syringe or turkey baster.
  • Check drain tube: From the rear of the unit (after removing the lower panel), locate the drain tube leading to the drip tray above the compressor. Ensure it is properly attached and not kinked or cracked.
  • Inspect drip tray: Make sure the drip tray is correctly positioned and not overflowing. Clean it if dirty.
  • Level the unit: Use a spirit level to ensure the cooler is slightly tilted back so water flows to the drain. Adjust front leveling feet as needed.
  • Reduce humidity load: Minimize door openings in very humid environments and avoid placing open liquid containers inside.
