Possible Causes
Failed compressor relay on main board, Loose compressor harness connector, Faulty temperature sensor preventing call for cooling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Unplug the unit before touching wiring.
- Confirm temperature setting: Ensure the set temperature is lower than room temperature so the unit should be calling for cooling.
- Check door switch: Some models inhibit cooling if the door switch is faulty. Press the door switch manually and see if the fan or compressor attempts to start.
- Inspect compressor connector: At the compressor, verify that the harness is fully seated on the start relay/overload assembly.
- Board relay check: Access the main control board and look for the compressor relay. Inspect for burn marks or cracked solder joints. If the relay is visibly damaged, replace the main control board.
- Sensor sanity check: If the board believes the cabinet is already cold due to a bad sensor, it may not start the compressor. Compare displayed temperature to an internal thermometer and replace the cabinet thermistor if readings are inaccurate.
