Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.

Steps to address Er:

• Dry the control area: If condensation or a spill has occurred near the display, gently dry the surface and surrounding trim. Allow several hours with the door open (unit unplugged) to let moisture evaporate.
• Access keypad PCB: Remove the front control panel or inner door trim to expose the keypad/touch PCB.
• Inspect for contamination: Look for signs of liquid ingress, corrosion, or residue on the PCB. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, then allow to dry completely.
• Check ribbon cable: Ensure the keypad ribbon is fully seated in its connector and not damaged.
• Test buttons: After reassembly and restoring power, test each button. If certain keys remain unresponsive or Er returns, replace the Hoover-compatible keypad/touch PCB.
