Possible Causes
Blocked evaporator drain hole, Drain tube kinked or disconnected, Excessive door opening causing condensation, Cabinet not level causing water to overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside. Mop up any standing water to prevent slips.
Steps to stop leaking:
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, usually at the bottom of the rear wall, find the small drain opening.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft brush, cotton swab, or flexible plastic rod to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole.
- Check drain tube: From the rear, locate the drain tube leading to the condensate tray above the compressor. Ensure it is not kinked, blocked, or disconnected.
- Clean condensate tray: Remove and clean the tray if accessible. Replace it securely so water drips into it.
- Level the cabinet: Ensure the cooler is slightly tilted back so water flows toward the drain, not out the door.
