Possible Causes
Cabinet temperature below sensor range due to overcooling, Shorted thermistor reading extremely low, Stuck compressor relay on control board, Incorrect temperature calibration on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components.
Steps to address 'Lo' reading:
- 1. Raise the set temperature: Increase the setpoint to a warmer value and monitor for several hours. If 'Lo' remains and the unit continues to overcool, proceed.
- 2. Allow partial warm-up: Unplug the cooler for 2–3 hours with the door closed, then plug it back in. If the display still shows 'Lo' even at moderate internal temperature, suspect the sensor.
- 3. Test the cabinet thermistor: Follow the E1 procedure to measure thermistor resistance. A very low resistance at room temperature indicates a shorted sensor.
- 4. Replace the thermistor if shorted: Install a new Insignia cabinet thermistor and verify wiring integrity.
- 5. Check control board: If the sensor is good but the compressor runs excessively and 'Lo' persists, the main control board may be misreading temperature or have a stuck relay. Replace the board if necessary.
Tip: Protect valuable wine by temporarily moving bottles to another cooler or a stable environment until the issue is resolved.
