• 3. Test the switch (advanced): With the unit unplugged, check continuity across the switch while actuating it. Replace if it does not open/close properly.
• 4. Check magnet alignment: For magnetic reed switches, ensure the door magnet is present and aligned with the sensor when the door is closed.
• 5. Replace faulty components: Install a new Insignia door switch or reed sensor if defective. If the switch is good but the light remains on, the main control board's light circuit may be shorted and require board replacement.
