Possible Causes
Loose condenser coil, Copper tubing hitting cabinet, Loose compressor mounting hardware, Loose internal shelves or bottle racks
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting any internal or rear components.
Steps to eliminate rattling/clanking:
- 1. Check inside first: Remove and reseat shelves and racks. Ensure bottles are not touching the interior walls or each other in a way that can rattle.
- 2. Inspect rear components: Remove the rear panel and gently shake the condenser coil and tubing. Identify any points where metal contacts the cabinet.
- 3. Secure loose parts: Tighten any loose mounting screws on the condenser or compressor bracket. Use foam pads or zip ties to secure tubing away from the cabinet.
- 4. Test operation: Plug the unit back in and listen during compressor start/stop. Adjust tubing and mounts further if needed.
Tip: Small adjustments to tubing position can significantly reduce noise; avoid kinking or sharply bending refrigerant lines.
