Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before inspecting fans or internal components. Allow hot components to cool.
Steps:
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is at least 2–4 inches of clearance around the sides and back of the Ivation cooler. Remove dust or debris from rear vents and grille.
- Inspect condenser fan (compressor models): Remove the rear panel. Verify the condenser fan spins freely by hand and is not obstructed. If it does not run when powered, the fan motor is likely bad.
- Inspect internal circulation fan (thermoelectric models): Remove the interior rear panel and check that the fan spins freely and is not blocked by wires or ice.
- Clean dust buildup: Use compressed air or a soft brush to clean the condenser coils and fan blades.
- Test operation: With panels temporarily in place, plug in the unit and observe whether the fan(s) start when cooling is called for. If the compressor or Peltier module gets very hot quickly and E5 appears, shut off power.
- Replace failed fan: Install a compatible Ivation condenser fan motor or Ivation internal circulation fan as needed.
Important: If E5 persists after ensuring proper airflow and fan operation, the compressor or Peltier module may be failing and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
