Possible Causes
Multiple sensor failures, Control board firmware error, Shorted sensor harness, Power surge damage to main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening any panels.
Steps:
- Hard reset: Unplug the unit for at least 15 minutes to fully discharge the control board. Plug back in and check if EE clears.
- Check for other codes: Some Ivation models may alternate EE with a more specific code (E1–E6). Note any additional codes and address those first.
- Inspect wiring harnesses: Remove rear and interior panels as needed and inspect all sensor harnesses (cabinet, evaporator, ambient, defrost) for damage or loose connectors.
- Look for burn marks: Examine the main control board for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or discoloration indicating surge damage.
- Secure all connections: Reseat all plugs on the main PCB, including power input, compressor or Peltier output, fan connectors, and sensor connectors.
- Test again: Reassemble enough to run the unit and see if EE returns.
If EE persists: The main control board is likely defective. Replace it with a compatible Ivation main control board or have a technician perform the replacement.
