Display shows F5 and the compressor cycles abnormally or not at all.

Safety: Unplug the unit. Compressor and electrical components can carry dangerous voltages. If unsure, contact a professional.

Steps:

• Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor and its start components.
• Inspect start relay and overload: These are usually small modules clipped to the compressor terminals. Check for burn marks, rattling (shake gently), or melted plastic.
• Check wiring: Ensure all wires are firmly connected and not burnt or loose.
• Replace suspect parts: If the relay rattles or shows damage, replace with a compatible Ivation compressor start relay and overload protector.

If F5 persists and the compressor does not start or hums loudly then clicks off, the compressor itself may be failing and requires professional diagnosis.
