Possible Causes
New appliance plastic off-gassing, Spilled wine or mold growth, Dirty drain pan, Poor ventilation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before deep cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage plastic.
Steps:
- Initial airing: For new Ivation units, run empty for 24–48 hours with the door slightly ajar (if safe) to allow odors to dissipate.
- Clean interior: Wipe all interior surfaces with a solution of mild dish soap and warm water, then with a mixture of baking soda and water. Dry thoroughly.
- Clean drain pan: Remove the rear panel and clean the drain pan above the compressor, where stagnant water can cause odors.
- Check for spills: Inspect shelves and walls for dried wine or residue and clean thoroughly.
