How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal ducting or dampers.
Steps:
- Identify affected zone: Determine which zone is too warm or too cold.
- Access damper assembly: On some JennAir dual-zone models, a motorized damper controls airflow between zones. Remove interior panels to locate it.
- Inspect damper door: Check that the damper door moves freely and is not broken or blocked by insulation or debris.
- Test damper motor: With a multimeter, check for continuity in the motor windings. If open, replace the damper motor assembly.
- Check wiring: Verify the harness from the control board to the damper is intact and connectors are secure.
- Control board: If the damper motor is good but never receives power when the zone calls for cooling, the control board may be defective.
