Possible Causes

Refrigerant leak or low charge, Failed compressor, Blocked condenser coil or fan, Door left open or gasket leak

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning coils or working near the compressor.

Immediate checks:

  • Door and gasket: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket seals all around. Replace a torn or hardened gasket.
  • Ventilation: Verify that the wine cooler has proper clearance around the sides and back per JennAir specs. Overcrowding can cause overheating.
  • Clean condenser: Remove the rear lower panel and vacuum dust from the condenser coil and fan. A dirty coil severely reduces cooling.
  • Check fans and compressor: With power restored, confirm the compressor and condenser fan run. If the compressor is hot and not cooling, or if the fan does not run, see related fan/compressor fault entries.
  • Allow recovery time: After a door left open or recent loading with warm bottles, it can take several hours to return to set temperature. Keep the door closed and monitor.
  • Refrigerant issues: If the compressor runs continuously, coils are clean, and temperatures remain high, there may be a sealed system problem (leak, restriction, or weak compressor). This requires an EPA-certified technician.
