Possible Causes
Loose condenser fan shroud or mounting, Vibrating copper refrigerant lines touching cabinet, Compressor mounting grommets worn, Unit not leveled causing cabinet vibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting components or touching moving parts.
Steps:
- Level the unit: Use a level and adjust the front leveling legs so the cabinet is stable and does not rock.
- Check rear components: Remove the rear panel and inspect the condenser fan, shroud, and compressor mounts. Tighten any loose screws.
- Isolate tubing: If copper lines are touching the cabinet or each other, gently bend them away and insert foam or rubber spacers to prevent contact.
- Inspect compressor mounts: Replace worn or missing rubber grommets under the compressor to reduce vibration.
- Fan noise: If the fan motor is noisy or the blade is damaged, replace the condenser or evaporator fan motor as appropriate.
